DIMAPUR: NSCN-K (Yung Aung) has cautioned government departments and business establishments in Kohima and Dimapur against imposters allegedly engaging in illegal extortion and fraudulent tax collection in the name of the organisation.
In a press statement, the group identified an individual, Kakto Chopy, operating under the alias HK Sema, who has reportedly collected large sums of money from government departments in Kohima.
The organisation warned him to immediately cease such activities or face capital punishment, noting that the warning also extended to others involved in similar practices.
To restore financial integrity and transparency, the Ministry of Trade and Commerce has appointed Toshi Naga, Joint Secretary, and Avolie Angami, Deputy Secretary, as finance in charges to oversee operations, coordination and strategic planning of financial matters in Kohima and Dimapur districts with immediate effect.
The statement further advised all concerned departments and business establishments to verify credentials and ensure transactions are made only with authorised persons, cautioning that dealings with unauthorised agents would be at their own risk.
