DMC urges owners to paint buildings by Nov 30

DIMAPUR, OCT 15 (NPN): Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has urged owners of private and commercial buildings within its jurisdiction to paint and maintain their properties in a clean and presentable condition by November 30, 2026, ahead of the festive season.
In a press release, DMC chief executive officer Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo said the appeal followed deliberations with Dimapur civil society organisations (CSOs) on October 1 as part of efforts to improve the city’s overall appearance.
The council also directed shopkeepers and business establishments to open only after 12 noon on Sundays, while allowing operations until 8 pm on weekdays, subject to applicable laws and government orders.
DMC appealed to residents, building owners and businesses to cooperate in maintaining a clean, orderly and aesthetically improved urban environment, stressing that public participation was essential for residents’ convenience and the city’s overall improvement.
