NEW DELHI, OCT 15 (AGENCIES): Protests against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar continued for the sixth consecutive day on Thursday, with student and youth organisations taking out a Tiranga march through Connaught Place.
Members of the All India Students’ Federation (AISF) and All India Youth Federation (AIYF) demanded rollback of the SIR, the CEC’s resignation and restoration of Jantar Mantar as a designated protest site.
The organisations said around 100 protesters, including women, were detained after police stopped the march near Central Park. Delhi Police did not release an official detention figure.
