Police issue NOC for Cong rally

NEW DELHI, OCT 17 (AGENCIES): Delhi Police has issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Congress for holding a rally at Ramlila Maidan, with the venue available from October 25 to November 3.
Dy. Commissioner of Police (Central) Rohit Rajbir Singh told ANI that the Congress first approached the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), which confirmed the ground’s availability. The party subsequently approached police, which issued the NOC after assessing the required security arrangements.
The approval comes after Jantar Mantar was de-notified as a designated protest venue. Delhi Police has designated Ramlila Ground, Burari Ground and CBD Ground in East Delhi as alternative locations for protests and demonstrations.
BJP slams Opposition: Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticised opposition protests in Delhi, alleging attempts to create anarchy and undermine constitutional institutions. It claimed India continued to progress despite global challenges and accused opposition figures, including Rahul Gandhi, of acting against national interests. BJP also questioned opposition allegations of electoral roll irregularities, asking why rival parties had not filed official complaints through their booth-level agents.
It announced a nationwide campaign involving rallies and press conferences.
