Atoizu gets first ambulance service

Staff Reporter

DIMAPUR, OCT 19 (NPN): Residents of Atoizu area, who have long faced difficulties in accessing emergency transportation for patients requiring urgent medical attention, received an ambulance for the first time, bringing relief to communities across the region.
The ambulance was donated by Khekishe Aye, G.B., New Market, and proprietor of AWSA private security, to Kulolau Atoizumi Küqhakulu (KAK) on behalf of Emlo-to block. The key was formally handed over to KAK members on Monday during the inaugural programme of Atoizu Sports Meet 2026 at Chümoukedima.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, KAK information and media secretary Vikato I. Chish said the donation comes amid concerns over the lack of adequate emergency medical transportation in the area.
In the absence of an ambulance, patients requiring urgent medical attention had faced difficulties in reaching healthcare facilities in time, compounded by the lack of nearby medical centres.
While handing over the key, Khekishe Aye expressed hope that the ambulance would help address healthcare needs and ensure timely transportation for patients during emergencies. He said the donation was intended to assist residents in accessing medical assistance when required.
KAK expressed gratitude to Aye for his contribution, stating that the ambulance would be a valuable asset to the community and help meet the long standing need for emergency transportation. Atoizu, which serves as the headquarters of the 32 Atoizu Assembly Constituency, is expected to benefit significantly from the initiative made on behalf of Emlo-to block.
