DIMAPUR: Rajya Sabha MP, S. Phangnon Konyak, attended the first day of the 12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum 2026 in New Delhi, which was inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on October 26.
The forum brought together parliamentary delegations from 21 countries, comprising 11 BRICS member nations and 10 partner countries, under the theme, “Fostering Parliaments for People-Centric Development.” Following the inaugural session, Phangnon participated in the second plenary session on innovation, themed “Harnessing Parliaments for Promoting Human-Centric Innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies.”
The session deliberated on the role of parliaments in fostering human-centric innovation and advancing the responsible use of artificial intelligence and emerging digital technologies through greater parliamentary cooperation.
