NYM postpones proposed sit-in dharna outside Lok Bhavan

DIMAPUR, OCT 27 (NPN): Naga Youth Movement (NYM) has reportedly postponed its proposed sit-in dharna scheduled for October 28 outside Lok Bhavan, Kohima.
In a video message on its YouTube channel, NYM representatives acknowledged support from various sections of society and questioned those opposing the movement, asking what was wrong with seeking an early Naga political solution through democratic means and urging the Government of India to implement the Framework Agreement and Agreed Position.
NYM also called on Naga youth to unite for their future, warning that vested interests sought to keep Nagas in the shadows.
Clarifying its stand, NYM said it had neither sought endorsements from individuals or organisations nor opposed any group. It maintained that support was voluntary and said the movement was launched with the objective of securing an early Naga solution. The leaders also stressed that the movement was not based on tribal lines or directed against any organisation, but sought a common, unified Naga stand for an early solution.
