DIMAPUR: Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union (DLSU) has appealed to Lotha residents in Dimapur to actively promote and wear traditional Lotha attire from November 1 to 7, 2026 in celebration of Tokhü Emong 2026. In an official notice, DLSU encouraged all Lotha individuals, irrespective of age or profession, to incorporate elements of traditional attire into their daily dress while attending workplaces, educational institutions, markets, social gatherings and other public places. The union said the initiative was aimed at promoting and preserving Lotha cultural heritage, identity and traditions. It stated that traditional attire reflected the community’s history, values and identity, and wearing it with pride was a meaningful way of keeping the heritage alive. DLSU further maintained that cultural preservation begins with individual participation and urged the community to make the festival week a collective expression of Lotha pride, unity and belonging. Appealing for wholehearted cooperation, the union called upon all Lothas in Dimapur to join the initiative and make their culture and traditions visible across the town during the Tokhü Emong celebrations.
