NCC cadets excel in parade

National Cadet Corps represented by three contingents of Naga youth i.e Army boy cadets of 24 Naga Indep Company, Army girl cadets of 66 Naga Indep Company and a mixed contingent of Air Force cadets of 1Air Squadron were adjudged first, second and third in drill and overall smartness in the juniors/schools category during the Independence Day parade. Five cadets viz SUO Aphrelie Phewhlto, Sgt Amal Singh, SUO Velhukholu, Cdt Abeuo Odyuo and Cpl Sara Nargyary were presented Best Cadet Award for the year 2007-08 by chief minister Neiphu Rio.
The award is being disbursed by the Cadets Welfare Society of DGNCC, New Delhi to most deserving cadets of Nagaland every year. Besides participating in Kohima, NCC cadets also participated in Independence Day ceremonies in most districts all over the State namely Dimapur , Mokokchung, Wokha, Phek and Tuensang
