ADC Wokha on RGAUD
KOHIMA: ADC Wokha has informed all educational institutions in Wokha headquarter to send five volunteers (runners) each to participate at Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas celebration (Renewable Energy Day) at local football ground at 7 am. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the ‘Run for Peace’ will be awarded for both boys and girls categories. Essay writing competitions for classes IV & V on the topic ‘Potential of Renewable Energy’ and Painting Competition for classes V – VII on the topic ‘Renewable Energy’ will also be held. Certificates of merit and honour will also be awarded in all disciplines.
VYO shooting competition
KOHIMA: The Annual shooting competition of the Viswema Youth Organization (VYO) will be held on September 26, the third day of its Binyi festival, at St. Joseph’s School Ground, Viswema.
RJD state unit meet
DIMAPUR: RJD state unit has convened a meet on August 29 at the president’s residence at 9am to discuss various activities of the party as well as participation of the party in the coming Municipal and Town Council election in the state. Therefore all state executives, advisory board members, and members of RJD state unit have been requested to attend the meet.
Science seminar deferred
KOHIMA: The Directorate of School Education has informed that the state level science seminar scheduled to be held on September 9 has been deferred to September 10 due to the Assembly session. The seminar would be held at Government Higher Secondary School. All the DEOs have been asked to note the change and inform the participants. The DEOs have also been notified to send their participants’ name to the director of School Education before August 31.
LVSU golden jubilee
DIMAPUR: The Longsa Village Students’ Union (LVSU) under Wokha has informed that the Golden Jubilee meeting for History Committee will be held on August 23 at 10 am at the Cultural Hall Longsa.
KNCS informs
DIMAPUR: The Kyong Naga Cultural Society (KNCS) has informed that the first practice session was held on August 16 at the residence of A. E Lotha, secretary, NLA and will continue every 2nd and 4th Saturday at the same venue and at 10 am till further notice. The KNCS president in a release has appreciated A. E Lotha and family for taking the trouble and M. Yanthan IAS secretary, for supporting and rendering his time.
RWDA informs
DIMAPUR: The Rotomi Welfare Dimapur Area (RWDA) has informed all the Rotomi that it would take stern action against him/her under article 14 of the constitution of RWDA if any person is found/caught in around Dimapur for extortion, killing, robbery and any other unlawful activities in the society and bringing disgrace to the welfare. This was stated in a release issued by Hutovi L. Shohe, general secretary RWDA.
ANDBPF foundation day
KOHIMA: The 6th foundation day of the All Nagaland Drivers and Bodyguards Prayer Fellowship Kohima (ANDBPF) will be held on August 23 at Yimchungrü Baptist Church, Kohima. Rev. C. Lima Sangtam as the speaker. All taxi drivers and NST government drivers and bodyguards have been requested to attend the programme.
DPSU meeting
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Phom Students Union (DPSU) general meeting has been convened at the residence of its union treasurer, Walford colony, Dimapur on August 23 at 1 pm. All students, village units, colony representatives and senior members have been asked to attend the meeting. Further, union general secretary, has informed colony representatives to submit 2008 DPSU membership along with statistical report.
