KVK holds trg distribution in Lumami and Longleng

Three-day vocational training programme for rural youth skill development was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaland University (KVK, NU) at Lumami village.
At the training programme, SMS (Horticulture), Edenly Chishi imparted training and demonstration for income generation through cultivation of horticultural crops.
Home science, programme assistant, Narola Anichari, imparted training and demonstration on value addition of seasonal fruits and vegetables which will help the rural youth to generate income and make them self reliant.
Meanwhile, in the valediction session, village council chairman Hukato thanked the KVK for imparting training and demonstration for the benefit of Rural Youth. He encouraged the youths to come forward to adopt the technologies so that they can be self employed.
Sr. Scientist & Head, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, in his valedictory message urged the youths to become messengers for transfer of technologies so that it has a multiple impact on the society and that the available natural resources can be converted into valued products. 
Later, participants were provided certificates for attending the programme.
LONGLENG : KVK, Longleng ICAR RC for NEH region organised input distribution for TSP 2015-2016 under home science and plant protection discipline on June 22 at KVK, office. 
Programme co-ordinator, KVK Longleng, Dr. K. L. Meena distributed the different inputs to the beneficiaries. For TSP on low cost mushroom, subject matter specialist, plant protection E. Lireni Kikon identified three villages, namely Oushok, Kangching and Hukphang villages comprising of one SHG and two individual farmers. 
Low cost mushroom production unit was constructed and input materials like spawn, polybag, sprayer, tekshi etc were distributed. Training cum demonstration was also conducted for the target beneficiary the same day.
For TSP on food processing on community basis, programme assistant (H/S) Thungchano S Ezung conducted trainings on processing and value addition and input materials like OTG oven, Mixer/grinder for processing of soymilk, soya biscuit, cake and hand juice extractor for processing of different fruit beverages were distributed to number of interested trainees comprising of SHGs, individual practicing farmers covering 12 villages under Longleng district.
