The Department of Fashion Technology at International University, Nagaland (formerly The Global Open University, Nagaland), in collaboration with Providence Institute of Design & Media and Esther Makeover School of Makeup, hosted its 11th Annual Fashion Show on May 29, under the vibrant and culturally inspired theme, ‘Cultura’
The event, held on the university campus along Dimapur-Kohima Road, was a lively showcase of creativity, tradition, and innovation. Hosted by Mhalo Ezung, the program opened with a welcome address from Registrar of the university Dr. Roopam Bachhil. The runway came alive through choreography directed by Mesho K Jimo, who styled and staged the students’ original fashion designs.
A distinguished panel of judges evaluated the participants: Fashion designer and member of the Nagaland Designers Association Sanjeev Tamang, Proprietor of Esti Design Studio, Dimapur Esther Y. Sumi, and Thejaseno Chusi, faculty member at the Department of Fashion Technology, IUN.
Award winners, best design: Runoni Tep, best garment construction: Nuzovolu Ringa and best creativity: Ngareiwung Kachui
The show drew an enthusiastic audience, including village chairmen and representatives from Sodzulhou and Kozabe, parents, guardians, and members of the university community. Their presence lent strong support to the young designers and underscored the importance of cultural expression through fashion.
