To sensitize the troops about human rights and importance of their strict observance while dealing with the public., annual Assam Rifles (AR) inter-sector debate competition on human rights was organized on June 24 and 25, at Assam Rifles Training Centre & School (ARTC & S).
The debate was based on the topic “Protection of human rights: Is it not the duty of security forces?” and was participated by 13 teams of Assam Rifles Sectors and ARTC & S.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, ARTC & S deputy commandant, Col Sanjay Mohla, highlighted the importance of adhering the human right norms while dealing with the public.
He exhorted all ranks to strictly observe the human rights and law of the land while combating terrorism. The chief guest also gave away prizes to the participants and presented trophies to the winner and runners up teams. Altogether, 52 speakers debated on the topic in Hindi and English, 52 speakers each “for” and “against” the motion.
