Four-day “trainer’s training on scientific backyard poultry farming for anganwadi workers of Nagaland” was organized from June 22 to 25 by ICAR Nagaland Centre and KVK Dimapur in collaboration with department of Social Welfare, Nagaland at ICAR Nagaland Centre, Jharnapani.
The chief guest of the function, assistant forest conservator, officer in-charge, Niuland range, Dimapur, Dr. Zubeni Tsanglao lauded the efforts of ICAR Nagaland Centre for transforming the life of rural tribal folk of Nagaland.
She asked the participants to spread awareness of what they had learnt to the rural farmers and emphasized on adoption of scientific technology developed by ICAR Nagaland Centre for enhancing the meat production in the state to achieve self sufficiency in this area. The chief guest distributed the Vanaraja and Srinidhi day old chicks to the participants.
The joint director of ICAR Nagaland Centre emphasized upon the entrepreneurship development in the field of poultry and piggery in Nagaland. He further elaborated the various strategies to be adapted for mitigating the climate change effects on livestock. Altogether 30 Anganwadi workers from Kohima, Medziphema, Diphupar and Dimapur attended the training programme.
