DC Dimapur tells people to contributes towards devp

Acknowledging the various problems faced by the people in the state, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome said the government alone was not to be blamed saying “it is the fault of everyone”.
Speaking at the inaugural of Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) programme of Ikishe model village Wednesday, the DC reminded that as public are contributing to the problems they should also contribute to the development of the state.
The DC was also of the view that Nagas speak a lot but does not translate it to action/work and wondered if this was the reason why the people were lacking behind.
While calling upon the citizens of Ikishe to be an example to others as a model village, Yhome said the village would become a model village in true sense if funds allotted were used in the right way for the development of the village. He also advised them to initiate “social audit” for transparency of the project and proper usage of funds.
It may be mentioned here that Ikishe model village was adopted by former MP (Lok Sabha) Late Khekiho Zhimomi in March 2015.
Delivering the welcome address, EAC Chumukedima, Thungbemo Patton reminded the gathering that success starts from grass root level and urged for proper implementation of the fund.
He said the success of the village would be an example to other villages and departments for judicious usage of the fund.
Earlier, God’s blessing was invoked by IBA Pastor, Ahoto Chophy, Ikishe village council vice chairman, Kughato Chophy chaired the programme while IVC chairman, Kheshito Z Zhimomi delivered the vote of thanks.
In the programme, SAGY secretary, Khubolho T Yepthomi gave a brief report of the developmental activities taken up by the village under the scheme.
