Water & Sanitation Support Organization, PHED Mokokchung division organized a workshop on Swachh Bharat Mission for villages in Mokokchung division on October 25 at Longkumer Kilem at Mokokchung town.
According to DIPR, SBM Mokokchung district chairman Bendangnukshi exhorted the gathering on the objectives of SBM and how each individual was a key role player in achieving a Swachh Mokokchung. He stressed on the “behavioural change and attitude” towards sanitation and hygiene and how it contributed in the progress of the society.
Further, executive engineer, N.Yanger Pongen challenged the gathering for making our society clean hygiene as a selfless responsibility; embrace it as a way of life.
Communitization, Powers & Functions of WATSAN committee, operation and maintenance, the key responsibilities were imparted to the participants. Participants were from village council, WATSAN committee and Watsu (women group) from each village. Altogether 180 participants from Ongpangkong (N), Ongpangkong (S), Kubolong, Mangkolemba and Longchem attended the programme.
