YATC celebrates golden jubilee

Yisemyong Adhoc Town Committee (YATC) celebrated its’ golden jubilee under the theme “Putusen Samanir”, Saturday, with parliamentary secretary of Geology & Mining, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier as the chief guest.
While delivering speech, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier shared his happiness at Yisemyong being declared as an ‘urban station’ by the department of Municipal Affairs, prior to the golden jubilee celebration. He said the celebration should be followed by social and economic transformation where equal opportunities could be availed by both men and women.
Looking at the present state scenario, the chief guest stated that Nagaland was plagued with ‘ism’, hampering the unity of the Naga society. He said this was retarding developmental activities, resulting in unemployment, poverty, unequality and the growth of anti-social elements. 
Dr. Imtiwapang stated that the Nagas must change and that the change must start from “ourselves”. It was high time, the Nagas needed to embrace the principles of truth, hard work and self-reliance,
Short speeches were also delivered by the village council chairmen of Sungratsu & Mongsenyimti, jt. director (SARS) Dr. PK Chitri and the1st secretary of ATC, I Kika Aier. 
Welcome note was said by vice-chairman, M. Imrong and vote of thanks by Aowati. A special song was presented by Watsu unit, Yisemyong and a poem recital by Bendangsenla. The theme message was delivered by SDO PHED, Mokokchung Masachuba Ozukum. Invocation was said by pastor YBC Akangmongba and benediction by deacon YBC Limawati. Earlier, the jubilee monolith, which was donated by the children of the 1st chairman Lendi Aier, was unveiled by parliamentary secretary, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier.
