Various civil societies of Dimapur would be undertaking the mass social work under the banner of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA-Clean India Mission) on October 1, 2016.
A meeting to this effect was held at DC Dimapur conference hall on September 28, where the SBA district brand ambassador, Geoffrey Yaden briefed the gathering on the purpose of the mission.
A press note issued by, ADC Dimapur, Elizabeth Ngully informed that the organizations decided to hold the SBA on October 1 since October 2 falls on a Sunday.
At the meeting attended by Naga Council Dimapur, DMC, DCCI, BAN, EDBA, EBC, Living Word Centre including representatives from various schools, colleges and NGOs, it was agreed that the SBA would be carried out in their respective areas/jurisdictions.
The members decided to initiate an award for the cleanest school in Dimapur, for which a committee would be setup, ADC stated. DMC also decided to give away citation/award to the cleanest colony under its jurisdiction.
On the other hand, the Durga Puja committee informed that this year’s theme for the forthcoming puja celebrations would be ‘Swachh Bharat’.
NCD informs
As entrusted, the civil society organisations in Dimapur headed by Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) would be undertaking Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on October 1, 2016. According to NCD president T.Bangerloba, the objective was to bring about improvement in the rural areas to achieve the vision of clean India by 2019 as part of national observance of SBA programme.
