A grand and befitting farewell programme was organized in honour to registrar of cooperatives societies Nagaland, Velasa Nakro who is retiring after serving the department for 35 years at its directorate Kohima on Thursday.
The retiring registrar Nakro in his address thanked all the department staff and officers for the support and cooperation throughout his 35 years of service in the department. He disclosed to his junior officers and department staff that he joined this department through NPSC in 1981 as inspector and rose to the top post and retirement. While encouraging the junior officers he informed that during his service, he was posted in various parts of the districts and advised them to give their best wherever they were posted.
While appreciating the department secretary, Lithrongla G.Chishi IAS who was also present at the programme, Nakro said through her effort around Rs. 50 lakhs were recovered for the department within few months. On behalf of the department, he urged the secretary to extend her continuous support and expedite the files of the department even in future too. Nakro assured his support and contribution to the department after retirement also if his service was required.
Secretary cooperative societies, Lithrongla G. Chishi IAS in her address said cooperative societies was very important department for the primary and rural economy of the state, for which she urged the department officers and staff to give their best service to the people. She said in her 5 months association with the retiring registrar, she had witnessed many achievements. She advised the department officials and staff to have strong bond to work together and reach to every nook and corner of the state. She challenged the department staff not to work for salary alone but with their best effort and as a facilitator to implement the project rightly and help the grass root level. She wished the retiring registrar a happy retired life.
The other representatives who spoke at the farewell included Nagaland State Cooperative Union , Nagaland State Cooperatives Bank Ltd, Nagaland State Marketing And Consumers Cooperative Federation Ltd, Nagaland State Apex Weavers Cooperative Federation Ltd, Nagaland State Entrepreneurs Associate Thrift And Credit Cooperative Federation Ltd, Nagaland Fisheries Cooperative Federation Ltd. , Dimapur District Milk Union Ltd, officers association, district officers, NSCFSA, ministerial staff, office peons and drivers union.
The farewell programme was chaired by additional registrar cooperative societies and in-coming registrar Wepe Ritse, invocation prayer said by Bumo Khiamniungan Jt. RCS and special song presented by RCS staff. The programme was attended by directorate department staff and district officers, well wishers, family members and others. The out-going registrar was felicitated by different groups of the department staff, individual and others.
