OpinionA call for a better Nagaland

A call for a better Nagaland

The beauty of Nagaland is our core value to be restored and calibrated. Uniquely, Nagaland is a land of churches with gift of Christians in leadership with patriotic youth. It is our common good, goal and treasure, and lasting future. Promoting its value by redeeming generation is the collective priority of Nagaland. It is the people who know God and follow His precepts when the Bible says, “Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord” (Psalms 144:15).
NAGALAND AS IT IS TODAY
A land of indigenous quality and spiritual value is now sadly marked with deteriorating and disheartening condition amid many good things. Our daily feature includes increase of rape cases, crimes, shameless burglary and thievery, fraudulence, violence, extortion, bribery, talking without working and eating without work, misbehaviors, dreaming employment without working, and inequality and manipulation. Modern evils and vulgarity invade our homes and families, schools and society, and streets causing psychological trauma. It is high time for every right thinking citizen to focus on course of future safety.
THE NEED OF RENOVATION
We long for human decency and quality to prevail in our land. Values that sustain and transform the world are Honesty, Trustworthiness and Work ethics. It is right time for these values to be restored. It is renovation when everyone revamps and is willing to change our attitude, character and conduct, and action. Total renovation is overdue in Nagaland. As ‘late is better than never,’ let us reset our house in order. Where and how do we begin?
Transformation process has no spectator or guest. It is the responsibility of ‘everyone’ to make a difference, from grass-root to brass top. It is not ‘someone else will do or bring change.’ Change is possible if we are willing to be honest, righteous and upright. Virally, we must overcome vulnerability of digital media, gross emotionalism, and promote spiritual maturity and stability. Wickedness is the defeated foe of UPRIGHTNESS. The need is a lasting achievement for youth.
PEOPLE OF NAGALAND MUST CHANGE NAGALAND
They are the families as schools of fundamental teaching, churches with NBCC and its allies with and by spiritual authority, tribal bodies with stern and strong regulations, civil societies and organizations to weed out human evils, schools and colleges for promoting morality and human dignity, work ethics and innovative life, national governments joining hands to reshape ‘Nagaland for Christ’ as the slogan for the country men and women, and state government having machineries, functionaries and operatives to generate youth vitality and transform the citizens of its State.
OVERHAULING TIPS
*The greatest achievement of Nagaland will be ‘securing our generation and developing our youth.’
*A sweeping spiritual revival ‘beyond pulpit’ is overdue that may transcend into the generation of digital age.
*All political differences be melted as a ransom for a new generation.
Finally, it is not anything of imparted element or external influence that will bring inner change but the indigenous and original value of people will bring drastic change in Nagaland. Restoring the values of Nagaland is the business of all the stakeholders. Let us think of roadmap to a new Nagaland:
Prayer – say a word of prayer for Nagaland everyday
Work – the fundamental principle of creation
Honesty – human dignity without enemy
Love – love them no matter how they hate you
Discipline – self-taught quality of self-control
Truth – speak and practice truth no matter how hard it is
Peace – do to others as you would have them do to you
Thank you and God bless Nagaland!
