Ahthibung Running Club (ARC) organised a small dedication ceremony for a badminton court that it built, to reach out to women who played a greater role in “upholding society,” on January 6 at Ahthibung town.
ARC media secretary, Lhingneilhai Singson, in a press release stated that mothers are the true frontrunner of society whose contribution to it is immense, and who through their selfless service, raise the next generation.
In acknowledgement of this, the ARC built a badminton court for them, complete with accessories and badminton racquets, so that they may use the court to play the sport and better their health.
The release mentioned that a full-fledged indoor badminton court is already available in the town, but because professionals and the youth use it regularly, it is hard for mothers to utilise the facility.
With the new badminton court, the mothers can utilize their recreational time to make use of the court and keep themselves in good health, the release added.
The chairperson of the Mother’s Association, along with village and youth authorities, were present at the dedication program.
Ahthibung Running Club authorities also pledged that in the coming days, they will explore more of such initiatives for the caretakers of society.
