The original musical, ‘A Winter Night’s Dream’ captivated audiences on March 7 and 8 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma-Kohima. Over two evenings, the production drew strong crowds and left many deeply moved by its powerful storytelling, evocative music, and performances.
Based on the beloved Sumi Naga folktale Nisapa and Nisala, the musical reimagined the timeless story of forbidden love, longing, loss, and redemption. While rooted in cultural tradition, the production brought fresh life to the tale through a seamless blend of drama, music, and choreography.
The musical featured a dedicated team of actors, musicians and crew who worked for several months to bring the production to stage, resulting in a visually engaging and emotionally moving performance that resonated strongly with the audience.
Blending powerful vocals, choreography and creative stage design, the production delivered a memorable theatrical experience, with the cast portraying their characters convincingly while the crew ensured smooth execution behind the scenes.
The show drew a strong audience on both evenings, who praised its originality and artistic quality. The musical also showcased the richness of Naga folklore through contemporary theatre.
