Aakash Institute, a premier national coaching institute specialised in Medical, IIT-JEE, and Foundation courses, was officially launched its centre in Dimapur at Middle Point Colony on Wednesday. The centre was inaugurated by Editor-in-Chief of Nagaland Post, Geoffrey Yaden.

Speaking at the inauguration, Yaden described the opening of Aakash Institute in Dimapur as a “momentous step” for young students aspiring to excel in competitive examinations.
He highlighted the potential of Naga students, drubbing them “intelligent, creative, and energetic,” and emphasized the importance of nurturing their talent through innovative and interactive teaching methods.

Yaden pointed out the mushrooming of coaching institutes in the state and remarked that many remain limited to textbook syllabus, failing to promote creativity and innovation. “The world is changing, and we need to adapt to remain relevant”, he said, underlining the significance of emotional intelligence and holistic education.

He further encouraged the faculty to go beyond academics, connect with students, and focus on overall personality development. Meanwhile, deputy director, Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) East Zone, Dr. Surrya Bhanu Singh, in his address recalled joining the organization when it had just 68 branches, but now has grown to over 400 branches across India.

Dwelling on his experience and his management in over 18 states, he maintained that students of the entire country were equally talented, however that the only barrier has been the lack of proper chance (access to quality coaching).

After expanding to different regions, he observed that rural students, when given equal resources, perform on par with their counterparts from mainland cities.
He pointed that the Dimapur branch would offer the same curriculum and quality as any other Aakash centre across the country.

Meanwhile, speaking to the media after the event, Singh emphasized that Aakash Institute has been achieving academic excellence in the field of Medical and Engineering, catering to more than 4.50 lakh students across the country, from over 400 branches.

He said that Dimapur branch would benefit students from the economically weaker section, who cannot move to other states for coaching. “We are confident that within one or two years, this centre will produce some of the best results in the country”, he stated.

It was learned that the admission fee in Nagaland was among the lowest across the country. It can be noted that the institute currently offers Foundation courses for Classes 8 to 10, JEE and NEET coaching for Classes 11 and 12, as well as Repeaters course.
