A day after the state chief minister, T.R. Zeliang, appealed for calm and assured to work towards all round development, the Aam Admi Party (AAP) Nagaland unit on Tuesday challenged the chief minister to undo the wrongs of the past years within 15 days.
In a press release, media cell, AAP Nagaland unit, said Zeliang was not a new leader for the Nagas to believe that he would bring peace, development and give basic rights to every Naga citizen.
“His poor former leadership is indicated everywhere in the State in every field like poor health center, poor road, poor administration of every school, secondary, college and university and others,” AAP said and urged Zeliang to abstain from making false statement for the sake of speech.
Further, the party claimed that not a single district in the state has good bridge and good road. It also said that many towns had no street light, adding there were various loopholes prevailing as a proof of his poor leadership.
Describing Zeliang’s assurance as “extremely vague”, AAP maintained that it was “under the same leadership with the same promises for the past many years, Zeliang promulgated broken political party, broken community, tribalism, religious violence, fuel adulteration, food scam, killing of the innocent youth, and betrayal to the Church Association, boycotting internet service, water cannon upon the citizens seeking for justice and threatening justice seekers and so on.”
In this regard, AAP demanded that Zeliang build all the broken bridges throughout the state, build all the broken roads, build all the broken health centers, reveal those who have consumed the share of the innocent citizens, penalise fuel adulteration accused, food scam, perpetrators responsible for the death of two innocent Naga youth, release deserving salary of every government employee, midday meal to every school child and other “broken rights” of every Naga citizen within the next 15 days.
Failure to fulfill, AAP Nagaland said it would organize a mass plantation movement “in every broken place in every corner of the state.”
AAP also said if Zeliang felt he cannot discharge its demand, then he should apologize to the people through media “for making hypocritical statement of building peaceful society and bring all round development in the state.”
