AASU General Conference

The 39th General Conference of Aqahuto Area Students’ Union (AASU) was held at Shokhuvi village on January 6.

A press release from AASU media cell stated that, Azheto Zhimomi, MLA, graced the event and also delivered a speech.

In his speech, Azheto said that there was immense potential in Naga youth to excel in many fields, provided they have the right platform to realise their abilities and pursue them.

According to Azheto, this potential would have a beneficial impact on the growth and progress of society because, he said, youth are stakeholders of the society.

He pointed out that it was the responsibility of every young person to do something positive for the well-being of the state.

Asserting that education was a powerful tool for taking the community forward, Azheto encouraged those who were good in studies to pursue their education with dedication.

He also added that there were no shortages of opportunities for those unable to keep up with others in studies as there were many other opportunities to choose from and specialise in.

“We need to continually nurture ourselves in order to bear good fruits in life”, he added.

Azheto, who hails from Kiyeto village of Aqahuto area, called upon the students and the public of the area in general to be torch bearers of peace and harmony and extend the same to other tribes and communities.

He was of the view that a nation, no matter how strong or rich it may be, would not grow without peace and unity among its people.
