AAUD gen session cum advent Christmas

Aghünato Areami Union Dimapur (AAUD) on December 14 held its 3rd general session and also celebrated advent Christmas at the residence of Akashe Zhimomi, AAUD banker, Eralibill Dimapur. The programme was graced by minister of PHE, Tokheho Yepthomi and parliamentary secretary for soil and water conservation, Pukhayi Sumi.
Delivering greetings to AAUD members, Tokheho stressed on the importance of maintaining cordial relationship amongst the members and to progress in unity. As a union, the minister said it was imperative that AAUD take an initiative to bring about positive reformation in the society. Encouraging the youth to be zealous, Tokheho said unlike in the past, the youth today were empowered with quality education. With right education, the minister said the younger generation should contribute in the development of the Naga society. Earlier, Pukhayi encouraged the gathering to cultivate positive mindset for peace and prosperity.
Cautioning the people against destructive mindset, he said it would only bring about chaos and destruction in the society. Sümi being one of the “leading” tribes in Naga society, the parliamentary secretary said it was imperative for the Sümis to retrospect and counsel one another. He encouraged the Sümis and members of AAUD to continue to maintain better relation with their neighbours.
Highlighting on the importance of being self-reliant, Pukhayi said Nagaland has much potentials for economic growth and encouraged the people to venture into various fields to be self sufficient.
The gathering was also exhorted by AAUD chairman Ahovi Sümi, DPO DRDA Khehovi Yeptho and former president of SKK, Hukiye Tissica.  During the programme, AAUD also elected its members led by Akashe Zhimomi as president and Otoka H Yeptho as the secretary.
Earlier, invocation  was said by Thilixu Village Baptist Church Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Yehevi Jimo; special number by Vilivi A Muru; prayer for newly elected members was administered by executive secretary WSBAK Rev. Dr. Hevükhü Achumi; vote of thanks was proposed by Hukiye K Yepthomi; Christmas feast prayer by mission secretary WSBAK Shikuho Zhimo and entertainment by Max and friends.
