Ao Baptist Churches across Nagaland observed ‘Clean Election’ campaign on Sunday under the banner of Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) with the theme– “One that finds the right and perfect way” (Ps:- 37:37).
In a press note, ABAM ‘social concern’ group stated that the objective of the campaign to obliterate the long practices of malpractice and unfair means during election which destroyed even spiritual standard of the Christians for decades.”
After the devotional service, people in large numbers took out a “mass rally” on the street in their respective jurisdictions, where some of them held placards on clean election urging people to observe total clean election in the upcoming State assembly election 2018. Realizing the urgent need of cleansing the electoral system, ABAM has also decided to publish and distribute a booklet on Clean Election and also provide pledge cards for interested individuals.
Therefore, ABAM called for right voting and urged all the citizens to refrain from “all evil practices and elect corruption free and God fearing leaders so as to have politicians who can perform their assigned responsibilities with precision”.
Further, the association prayed for God’s miracle to bring changes in our political system and restore Christian spiritual standard.
