The BasCon 8 Festival 2025 opened on a vibrant, high-spirited note on December 6, as Abiogenesis, the acclaimed Naga folk fusion band from Nagaland delivered a powerful opening performance. Their signature Naga Howeymusic echoed across the scenic Hei and Kidi Riverside venue in Basar, captivating festivalgoers and setting an energetic tone for the four-day cultural celebration.
The Basar Confluence, held annually since 2017, has grown into one of Arunachal Pradesh’s most distinctive cultural and ecological gatherings. This year’s edition continues its tradition of bringing together art, music, craft, indigenous knowledge, and community-driven initiatives. Attendees and organisers praised Abiogenesis’ dynamic showcase, calling it a standout start to the festival.
Basar, located in the Leparada district, is known for its lush green landscapes, rolling hills, and vibrant tribal heritage. The town, home to the Galo tribe, provides a picturesque backdrop that has become an integral part of the festival’s identity.
