ACAUT demands advt for vacant posts

ACAUT Sunday claimed that out of the 68s post created in 2018-19 only 63 were advertised and five withheld by the Higher & Technical department and that the 42 posts created in 2019-20 had not yet been advertised, ACAUT Nagaland has demanded that the remaining 47 posts be advertised before the start of next academic session along with the about 50 sanctioned posts being occupied by contractual appointees.

Demanding that all 97 post must be advertised for qualified Nagas to compete without further delay, ACAUT  cautioned that any stop-gap arrangement without advertisements would be illegal.

It urged Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), after complying with disability reservation norms over which the Common Educational Services Examination, 2019 was “on hold”, should go ahead without any change as per the original advertisement. ACAUT said the ultimatum served by Civil Engineers’ Association Nagaland, which was backed by Combined Technical Association of Nagaland, was fully justified in demanding termination of 30 SOs Grade II, seven draughtsmen and seven surveyors.

Pointing out that the November 23, 2019 advertisement for nine SOs Grade II was only for existing vacancies devoid of the 30 such posts filled up via backdoor, the anti-graft body demanded that the advertisement be issued again immediately else, it warned, the department was liable for lawsuit. ACAUT’s statement came in response to the notification issued by chief secretary, dated November 28, 2019 that stated that compiling the list of contractual employees must be an exercise in consonant with law laid down.
