ACAUT Nagaland has condemned the alleged harassment of the chairmen community comprising of over 100 colonies (Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) by one NPG functionary over taxation purpose.
ACAUT through its media cell said that the “so-called SS Col. Tokugha” has been giving sleepless nights to the Chairmen federation members for almost two months- throwing his weight around threatening the federation members with arrest and confinement in Camp Khehoi.”
Questioning the GPRN/NSCN whether the organisation and the “SS colonel” were in tune with ground reality, the ACAUT asked “Does the GPRN/NSCN really think that all its public relation exercises cosying to various tribal hohos and organisations will bear fruit when on the other hand it sanctions some people like Tokugha to harass the general public?”
Further, ACAUT said the “SS Colonel” taking the name of Camp Khehoi in his every utterance to cow down the members of chairmen federation was most irritating.
In this regard, ACAUT has challenged the “colonel” to arrest its members for confinement in Camp Khehoi if he had the guts instead of “strutting around the houses of federation members like a prized bull which he is not.”
Pointing out that Dimapur Urban comprised of at least one lakh population, ACAUT said “if a mere SS colonel thinks that he can intimate the Chairmen community” it was gravely mistaken. “Those Khushi-khushi days are long gone,” it added.
Meanwhile, ACAUT has cautioned that since the “SS colonel” has already fixed September 2017 as the final date of payment of tax upon DUCCF, the consequences would be grave if anything happened to any members of the Chairmen community.
ACAUT also demanded that “SS colonel blinded by greed and money” be terminated from the GPRN/NSCN immediately. ACAUT said if he was not terminated then it should not be held responsible for any course of action which it may be compelled to undertake.
ACAUT has also directed DUCCF not to pay any form of tax to any faction as per the October 31, 2013 resolution.
