Fuel adulteration kingpin Dhinanath arrested
ACAUT on Friday lauded Assam Police for arresting the “notorious fuel adulteration kingpin” Dhinanath Shah from Khatkhati on October 1, 2018.
In a press note, ACAUT media cell pointed out that Dinanath had shifted his base of operation from Dimapur to Khatkhati under Karbi Anglong district after ACAUT and Dimapur district administration busted and exposed the network of illegal fuel adulteration units across the district in 2016. With the case still pending in the court, ACAUT said that the “hardened criminal” had conveniently shifted his fuel adulteration unit to Khatkhati bordering Nagaland.
ACAUT also alleged that Dhinanath was still procuring kerosene from Dimapur meant for Public Distribution System (PDS) to run his illegal business.
Expressing hope that the arrest will only strengthen the case against the kingpin, ACAUT on the other hand urged the Nagaland police to co-ordinate with its counterpart in Assam and get to the root of the matter and ensure that this notorious criminal along with all corrupted officials and the syndicate mafias, who are part of the illegal racket be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, ACAUT said that there were some “impatient people” casting aspersion and trying to malign ACAUT saying the latter had been compromised.
ACUAT however clarified to all and sundry that ACAUT believes in the “rule of law” and that its members had been patiently co-operating and for the past two years appearing for summons and court hearings and has been giving necessary information both to the investigating agencies and media from outside the state.
ACAUT said it was hopeful that in spite of some corrupted people in the system, given this new turn of events, it expected that judiciary would not make a mockery of the justice system but give a fair and final judgement at the earliest .
