Governor of Nagaland, P. B. Acharya while highlighting the secular nature of India called upon the NCC cadets to uphold the customs and traditions adding that that the north east region was rich in resources and could take India forward.
Speaking at the valedictory function of national level Special National Integration Camp on January 14 at Patkai Christian College, the governor asked the cadets to remember their mother tongue, traditions, culture and roots and yearn for development and progress.
He lamented that Indian colleges and universities produced graduates in large numbers but were not employable. The governor also pointed out that though there are eight universities in north east and lakhs of graduates there was no jobs.
The governor further said NCC cadets were lucky to be part of a disciplined organisation and should spread the message of “unity and discipline” and unity and diversity throughout the country.
Earlier, girl’s guard 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion Kohima gave an impressive guard of honour with Rashtriya salute. The Cadets of 17 directorates consisting of all states and union territories presented 17 folk dances depicting their states. It was a representation of colourful mini India in all its glory- unity in diversity.
