Activities mark OGC fortnight

Various competitions and activities marked the Oil & Gas Conservation (OGC) fortnight which came to a close with a valedictory function held at Samarati Hotel here Saturday where the Principal of Jain Girls College, Chandra Rawat as the chief guest.
Speaking at the valedictory function, Rawat said youth should be responsible and aware for conserving fuel. He opined that OGC awareness should be spread in higher education institutes and to educated people who can read and understand the purpose of awareness. Rawat expressed his gratitude to Indian Oil Corporation for organizing the programme and also invited the team to the college campus to create awareness in the coming years.
State level co-ordinator, Sanjib Chakravarty, has highlighted on the various activities undertaken in the past 15-day observation of OGC fortnight. He said Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Nagaland team, has organized competitions in essay writing, painting, cycle rallies, marathon race, LPG conservation clinic, awareness campaign on transport sector and OGCF walk for school children in Kohima, Dimapur and Mokokchung.
On the occasion, fortnight activity photos were displayed and winners of the essay writing competition were awarded. Spot quiz was also conducted for school and college students present in the function and gifts were distributed to the students who could answered the questions.
The programme was attended by students, teachers from different schools and colleges, distributors and well wishers. At the end of the programme, leaflets and pamphlets were distributed to students for awareness and tips for efficient use of fossil fuel.
