All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA) Wokha district celebrated its “9th Foundation Day” on May 17 at Lotha Hoho Ki, during which, the association decided not to “extend any co-operation in the form of taxation” to any Naga National Groups (NPGs) unless “unless factions come under one government”.
A press release by the association informed that in an opening remark, ACVA Wokha president, Renbi Ngullie highlighted the gathering on the objective of the association, which was to work for the welfare of its members as well as to streamline as to how satisfactory and effective service could be provided to the general public.
He also apprised the members about the various grievances and hurdles effecting and hampering the functioning of the association due to multiple taxation.
Ngullie appealed all the members and associated units to extend outmost support and co-operation so that they may be able to provide effective service to the people.
At the second session, ACVA decided that, the association would extend fullest support to the ultimatum served by Wokha Village Youth Organisation, Wokha Village Council, Wokha Village Women Organisation, Wokha Village Student’s Union and Wokha Village Elder’s Forum setting a six day deadline to district administration to intervene in the ongoing construction of NH-2 starting from 72.40 Km to 83.00Km appealing to ensure that work are carried out/implemented as per necessary specification.
In regard to multiple taxation/ demand note received from various factions the association decided that “until and unless factions comes under one government, ACVA decided to not extend any co-operation in the form of taxation.” ACVA also appealed all its members to contribute their annual membership fee. The function was chaired by general secretary Mini Truck Union, Wokha, Mathew Jami, special number was presented by Zach’s Jeru Ezung while vote of thanks was proposed by Nchumthung Yanthan. Later in the day all the associated units participated in the car rally which started from Local Ground, Wokha.
