Chavara Home organised an “advance Women’s Day-cum-free medical check-up” for hepatitis B and C on March 5 at its premises with Vidika Dhiman wife of brigadier Brijesh Dhiman of 6th sector Assam Rifles as the chief guest and Naharbari chairperson Tokheli Kikon as the special guest.
In her address, Vidika Dhiman emphasised on women’s role in the society and encouraged them to help in building a good moral based society.
Delivering keynote address Miqlat Ministry Dimapur, director Asha Sanchu said “we must learn to respect and value our own womanhood” as woman has tremendous capacity within her.
Tokeli also said that women have so much of strength and that she has to divert it for the good of the society by reaching out to the unreached.
In the programme, children of Chavara Home enlightened the gathering with special items bases on women’s day. 80 women participated in the programme out of which 77 availed the free check up and more than forty received preventive vaccination.
The medical team comprised of Vini Clinic Midland and Dr. Hotoka’s medical team. Competitions were also conducted for the women and winners were awarded prizes by brigadier Brijesh Dhiman of 6th sector Assam Rifles. He congratulated and encouraged women to come up in life and have such gathering often.
