Advisor, Labour, Employment and Skill Development, and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer asserted the importance of collective introspection and action for a progressive society.
Addressing the meeting of Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland Longpok Semchir Telongjem Saturday, Moatoshi asserted the importance of “purposeful gathering” and added that such gatherings should be a platform for people to introspect and take positive action for a better future. He said such gatherings should have objective and commitment and not just bask in the glory of past achievements.
He asked the members of the “telongjem” to reflect on their contributions to the betterment of Nagas while emphasising the need for introspection. Moatoshi also shed light on prevalent social issues in the three districts and the urgent need for collective action.
Expressing concern over the prevalent substance abuse issue, Moatoshi called for a concerted effort to address the problem and suggested that the “telongjem” extend support to the district administrations and relevant departments to control the issue.
Underscoring the importance of delving into history to trace one’s history, the advisor suggested a project to “uncover the roots of Ao Nagas” so that the future generations are equipped with the knowledge of their ancestors.
Earlier, invocation was said by DABA associate pastor, Rev. I Wati Longkumer, presidential address was delivered by president, Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Nuiland Longpok Semchir Telongjem meeting, Tsuktimeren Longkumer, and exhortation by Lanuteka Longkumer.
