Amur Falcon Roosting Area Union (AFRAU) Pangti has cried foul over non-construction of connectivity road to tourist spot (Amur Falcon Observation Area) despite the sanction of the project in 2016 by Ministry of Tourism under Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
In a press release, AFRAU Pangti president, N Thungbemo Shitiri, accused the tourism department of being reluctant to implement the project even after numerous directives from higher authority for implementation. AFRAU alleged that due to “selfish interest” of some individuals and insincerity on the part of concerned department the project failed to take off till now.
The union has warned that individuals and groups trying to make any profit out the project would be sternly dealt with.
Further, the union has appealed to the responsible department to issue work order to the local deserving tenderer at the earliest before arrival of the bird i.e. second week of October). Failure to do so would compel the union to take its own course of action and the department would be held solely responsible for any untoward action, AFRAU warned.
Meanwhile, AFRAU Pangti has convened a general meeting on October 7, 2018 at 2pm in the community hall, Pangti village.
