Department of agriculture launched the State Agriculture portal (SAP) nagafarmer.nagaland.gov.in on Wednesday at the directorate of agriculture conference hall.
A press release from the department informed that while speaking at the launching programme, director of agriculture, M. Ben Yanthan said that with the launching of SAP, the department was committed to provide responsive and effective administration and user-friendly platform for the welfare of farmers and farming community.
He said that SAP would play a critical role in providing a single access point to government information and services related to agriculture sector eliminating the need to navigate multiple website and applications.
The director informed that SAP would present information and services in a single consolidation browser view and also provide a secure and individualised view of multiple online resources and interactive services.
Yanthan also said that through the use of information Technology (IT) and through the portal, farmers, business persons and citizens across the globe would be able to access the benefits of IT with just a click of a button.
Further, Yanthan said that SAP would be an effective interactive platform for government to farmers, farmer to businesses and also government to any user citizen, so that exchange of information and access to agriculture services could be easy and speedy.
With the launching of SAP, agriculture department would progress and expand in all spheres to boost farming activities by providing a platform to advertise local indigenous farm products, farmers’ market and provide information about various activities of agriculture department and other units such as IETC, SARS, KVK, Agri Expo, ATMA, Farmer Corner etc., he informed.
During the launching programme, the director also released the department “News Letter 2020-2021”.
Earlier, Ramietech Solutions, Kohima also highlighted the technical report of SAP during the programme.
The programme was chaired by additional director of agriculture, S. Kivikhu Achumi and vote of thanks was delivered by SMS, IT Nodal, Ronchamo Kikon.
