Four AICC members – K.V.Pusa, Joshua Sumi, Tarie Zeliang and Asu Keyho, who were served show cause notice by the chairman Disciplinary Action Committee (NPCC), described the notice served under Article XIX (f) (iv) of INC which had no reference, as “ vague and devoid of sanctity”.
In their joint reply, the four cited the above article under which the executive of the NPCC could take action only against a committee subordinate to it and individuals other than members of AICC and MPs where it can only make recommendations to the working committee for disciplinary action.
The four said on proper scrutiny of the show cause notice and enclosures, there was no indication to suggest any direction or notice from the AICC office to initiate show cause notice.
They contended that the show cause notice was found untenable and devoid of any jurisdiction of authority. They also informed that their reply to the show cause notice, had the verbal endorsement of officials of AICC, New Delhi.
