Aid to Mizoram

The State government will hand over Rs. 20 lakhs to the Mizoram government in aid of famine victims. A senior government official informed that the aid was enhanced by Rs. 5 lakhs from the earlier announced Rs. 15 lakh by the state chief minister. Meanwhile, the high-level state team on Tuesday left for Mizoram. Mizoram has been experiencing famine like situation due to flowering of bamboos causing severe hardship to those affected by famine.
