AK Mishra in Nagaland; begins parleys with NPGs

Government of India’s representative for Naga political talks, AK Mishra arrived in Nagaland

on Monday on a weeklong visit.
Soon after his arrival, Mishra met several leaders of the Naga Political Group(s) at Police Complex, Chümoukedima. He also met some civil society organization leaders on Monday. During the back-to-back meetings held separately with the NPG leaders and CSOs, Mishra was reportedly briefed about the present status of the talks, sources said.
It was also learnt that Mishra will be holding several rounds of parleys with leaders of the NSCN (I-M) and the Working Committee of the NNPGs. He will also be meeting the members of the Parliamentary Core Committee on Naga Political Issue headed by chief minister Neiphiu Rio.
