The Hindi Film Song Competition 2025 was held on September 26, at the Akashvani Kohima premises, marking the valedictory function of the annual Hindi Pakhwada celebration.
The event sought to encourage the cultural and practical use of Hindi in both official and social spheres.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from Akashvani Kohima staff as well as representatives from member offices of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Nagaland. Contestants showcased their talent and passion through renditions of popular Hindi film songs.
The programme began with a welcome address by Smt. Ella Kayina, Head of Programmes, before moving into the performances.
At the end of the event, winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes. Shri DG Long from 45 Assam Rifles secured the first position, followed by Shri Prakash Sinha from the Office of the Postal Services, Kohima in second place, and Shri Dhanpal from 105 Bn BSF in third.
The programme concluded on a celebratory note, with officers and staff commending the participants’ performances and stressing the importance of cultural events in fostering the use of Hindi.
