AKM alarmed over kidnapping reports; urges public vigilance

DIMAPUR, JUN 2 (NPN)

Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has expressed serious concern over ongoing reports of alleged kidnapping incidents in and around Dimapur and Kohima.
While the full details of these cases are yet to be confirmed, the student body said the nature of the reports is disturbing and warrants immediate public awareness and precautionary measures.
In a press statement, AKM president Lanutoshi Aier and general secretary Satemmongba high-lighted Mokokchung district’s proximity to Assam and the ease of inter-district and interstate movement as factors requiring heightened alertness. It appealed to the public, especially students, parents, educational institutions, youth organizations, and village authorities to remain vigilant.
AKM urged citizens to report any suspicious activity, unfamiliar persons or vehicles, or abnormal movement in their localities to the nearest police station, institutions or reach out to AKM office at +91 70057 40523 or +91 88374 86276.
