Ao Students’ Conference– Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) , apex body of the Ao students’ organization, has expressed dismay with the poor attendance of government employees, including heads of departments (HoDs), in most of the departments.
In an open letter to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, AKM vice president Akummeren Longchar and general secretary Bendangkumba Aier stated that they discovered this during official visit to government departments under Mokokchung district recently.
Ao Kaketshir Mungdang said it also observed that in some of the departments, the office (asst. controller legal metrological and consumer protection office) was even completely left unattended.
Urging all the defaulting government employees to be sincere in performing their duties in the interest of the general public, AKM further requested all HoDs to streamline their department in order that no stone was left unturned towards the uplift of Mokokchung district.
AKM further informed that it had earmarked certain departmental heads such as “project director (DRDA), district agriculture officer”, who were found to be absent in their offices during several official visits.
Quoting its “reliable source”, the Mungdang stated that district youth resource officer Mokokchung, who was an ad hoc government teacher, was deputed to Mokokchung as DYRO.
In the light of the above, the students’ body urged the DC Mokokchung to immediately station all the HoDs and staff in their respective department.
