Alder Fest 5.0 concludes at Alder College Kohima

Alder College hosted the 5th edition of its annual cultural and sports festival, Alder Fest 5.0, from March 27 to 28 at its Sepfuzou campus under the theme “Heritage Unplugged.”
The two-day event saw enthusiastic participation from various institutions and colleges across Kohima. The opening ceremony was graced by Councillor of Dimapur Municipal Council and an alumnus of Alder College, Neingutoulie Kengurüse. Sharing his experiences, he encouraged students to work hard and remain focused on success. The programme was chaired by vice president of ACSUK, C. Betha Kamla, with invocation by Women Coordinator of ACSUK, Yanglirila, and a welcome address by president of ACSUK, Salamvü Rhi. The Principal, Dr. Medotsino Thorie, also addressed the gathering. The first day featured inter-college competitions including arm wrestling, cosplay and an open mic session showcasing student talents.
Day two began with the much-anticipated Inter-collegiate Naga Wrestling Competition, graced by reigning NWA champion Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü. Neikerhezo Zhünyü from Kohima College emerged as the champion, followed by Kekhriesielie Metha (Kohima College) in second place, Küvetsüto Kezo (Baptist College) in third and Khrütuzo Medeo (Mt. Olive College) in fourth.
The festival concluded with a lively concert by “The Gluttones”, featuring performances by dancer Ngungle Wangsa and singer Ketoulhou Sakhru. Winners of the competitions were awarded cash prizes, certificates and gift hampers sponsored by Ete Coffee and other merchandise partners.
