All 5 Assam ministers crorepatis, one has criminal case: ADR report

New Delhi, May 13 (PTI): All the five ministers sworn-in in Assam are crorepatis while one of them has a criminal case, a report by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) said on Wednesday.
Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the chief minister for the second consecutive term on Tuesday. Along with him, four MLAs – BJP’s Rameswar Teli and Ajanta Neog, AGP’s Atul Bora and Charan Boro of BPF — also took oath as ministers. Bora declared a criminal case against himself in his affidavit, and the charge relates to “criminal breach of trust by public servant, or by banker, merchant or agent (IPC Section-409)”, the report said.
All the five ministers are crorepatis. Chief Minister Sarma has the highest assets worth over Rs. 35 crores, while he has also declared liabilities of over Rs. 16 crores.
The average assets of the five ministers is Rs 10.99 crore. While one minister has declared their educational qualification as class 10, rest four have declared educational qualifications of graduate or above. Neog is the only woman minister in the cabinet.
