All Nagaland folk song and folk fusion competition

2nd Edition of All Nagaland Folk Song and Folk Fusion competition was held on December 16 at Khuzama play ground on the theme “strings of the past, Melody of the future.” The event was organised by Kekhrie Krotho in collaboration with TaFMA.


Special guest, Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, MLA, in his speech mentioned the improvement of TAFMA and the increasing number of people making a living from music.

He noted that while advanced countries have made progress in many fields, we excel in folk songs and fusions, presenting an opportunity for livelihood. Dr. Rhütso also stated a time will come when we would need to be educated farmers and mentioned that today giving platform to the local entrepreneurs and providing farmers with a platform to showcase their agricultural products, supporting local entrepreneurs is a great step.

He also stressed on working towards eradicating tribalism and work for better united Nagaland. The program was followed by Folk Song competition and Group Folk song competition.


The winner of the Best Solo Folk Song competition : Group folk song winner: Tsaroho group, second prize was won by Poimi Students union .
Solo Folk Fusion winner : 1st Sabino Hibo ,2nd Alo Ena, 3rd Khrielhoubei Kaimo ,
Folk Song: 1st Atenle Seb, 2nd Menuolhounuo Lese. The judges of the competition was Neikuo Khezhie, Kehodi Yoho from coloured keys and Alune Tetseo from Tetseo Sisters.
