Along receives ‘Minister of the Year Award’

Nagaland minister for tourism and higher education, Temjen Imna Along, received the “Minister of the Year Award” at the India International Centre, New Delhi in the presence of important Indian and foreign dignitaries. The award is jointly instituted by the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), The Educational Standards and Testing Council of India (TESTCOIN) and the United Nations affiliated International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP). On the occasion, the minister released a book on Nagaland authored by Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi.


Along invited all the vice chancellors and the foreign dignitaries to visit Nagaland. Speaking on the theme of “Creation of World Class Universities: Prospects, Constraints, Challenges and Dimensions”, the minister stressed the need for helping the students in leading the nation in different areas.


Among those present at the award function included IAEWP chancellor Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director Dr. M. Srinivas, Amity University Gurugram vice chancellor Prof. P. B. Sharma, Jamia Hamdard University vice chancellor Prof. M. Afsar Alam, Haryana Skills University vice chancellor Prof. Raj Nehru, additional chief secretary and chief resident commissioner of Nagaland Jyoti Kalash, The Global Open University Nagaland chancellor Dr. S. N. Pandey, Ethiopian Government Representative Feven Kassahun and Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU) and Educational Standards and Testing Council of India (TESTCOIN) director Dr. Utkarsh Sharma.
