Amahator Range Students’ Union (ARSU) observed its 20th general session from January 7 to 10, with the theme “Etiquettes of success” at Changchor village. The inaugural fucnton was graced by minister for power, C. Kipili Sangtam as chief guest.
In a press note, ARSU president, Athrongba and general secretary, Rebecca stated that Kipili urged the students’ community to excel in academics as they were considered as the “hope of tomorrow”.
He urged the general public to maintain unity and understanding so that corruption and disturbances in the society avoided.
The president in his presidential speech referred to the previous proposal made in the 18th general session “construction of approach road from New Risethsi Village to Yingshikur Village via Old Risethsi Village” and added that it has also included the construction of office building at its Hq. Amahator village before its silver jubilee 2021.
The union also acknowledged the chief guest, speakers, other programme officials, invitees, delegates, unit presidents, individuals, volunteers, host village councils, students’ union and BYE for their tireless contribution.
Meanwhile, the union has elected a new team of office bearers headed by president Athrongba .L Old Risethsi Village, vice-president Sejongmong Amahator Village, general secretary Rebecca Keor Village and assistant general secretary Atsase New Risethsi Village. Events like volley ball tournament, badminton for girls, solo competion, traditional show, talent show and folk songs were conducted during the session.
