Amphitheatre inaugurated at Phiro village

Director for Rural Development, Nagaland, Liboni Humtsoe, inaugurated the Amphitheatre at Phiro village under Wozhuro block of DRDA, Wokha under 15 FC (untied) during 2022-23 on November 26.
According to DIPR report, addressing the gathering during the inaugural function, the director expressed gratitude to Wokha District Village Development Board Association (WDVDBA) for their sincere effort in successfully implementing the project. She also thanked the land owner for generously and being willing to donate the land to construct the Amphitheatre.
Humtsoe also stated that this amphitheatre at Phiro village is the first of its kind in the Wokha district which was constructed under 15 FC 2022-23. Highlighting the many projects and schemes provided by the government to develop their areas, she urged the village functionaries, especially the Village Development Board (VDBs) to transparently and judiciously utilize the funds and implement the schemes as per the specifications and guidelines for the benefit of the community.
She also informed that the department of RD has taken up a scheme called RGSA, which is now revamped, and the Government of India to give recognition to the VDBs has introduced National Panchayath Awards (NPA) to the best performing VBDs, under which, nine themes are categorized namely Poverty Free & enhanced livelihood, healthy village, child-friendly village, water sufficient village, clean & green village, self-sufficient infrastructure, the socially secured village with good governance and finally women friendly village. In this regard, she appealed to the village community to extend co-operation to the village functionaries and implementing agencies so that schemes and projects are appropriately implemented.
“To achieve the many programmes and policies of the government, one has to be sincere and dedicated”, she stated. She added unity among the society is most important, as any kind of development can be achieved if they are united and called upon the village and the village functionaries to work with unity to bring about change and development and for a prosperous society.
President WDVDBA, Mhondamo Shitiri, thanked the director, RD department for the keen interest and for initiating the project.
Short speeches were also delivered by project director DRDA Wokha, P. Koza, general secretary Nagaland State Village Development Board Association (NSVDBA) Manthungo Kikon, vice president NSVDBA, Dr. Imli, chairman Phiro Village Council and representatives from the land donor/owner.
